BTU & Gas Facts
What is a BTU?
A BTU, or British Thermal Unit, is a basic measure of thermal (heat, energy). It is the amount of energy needed to cool or heat one pound of water by one degree fahrenheit at a constant pressure. We use BTUs to measure the energy output and gu usage per month of American Glow Lighting burners.
How much gas is needed to produce 1,000 BTU's of energy?
1 cubic foot of gas = 1000 BTU
AGL Burner Usage
Use the table below to determine the BTU output and gas usage per month of American Glow Lighting burners for natural gas and liquid propane

Cost to Operate
Multiply your utility's gas cost per cubic foot (cf) times the monthly per the table above
GAS COST PER CUBIC FOOT X GAS USE PER MONTH (cf) = COST TO OPERATE PER MONTH
What is the estimated cost of a maple leaf flame burner if left on "full open" 24/7?
$0.01 X 2232 cf = $22.32
Effective & Efficient
Of the major sources of energy in the United States, natural gas is the cleanest, most efficient, cost effective and abundant producing less pollution and fewer greenhouse gases than its counterparts.
